The Great Revelation: Exposing the Fraud of Governance
A Personal History of the Freeman On the Land Movement

What’s important to understand about the Free Man on the Land movement is that it was started by Robert Menard, and it began with a lot of great ideas. The early days saw lawful concepts being thoroughly examined through the lens of what is considered legal. This effort inspired a whole group of people to start looking at these concepts analytically, challenging their fundamental assumptions about what they thought the law actually was. By being able to compare legal versus lawful, we began to get a real handle on these important concepts. This intellectual spark laid the groundwork for a profound journey of discovery.

The Intellectual Spark: Defining Lawful vs. Legal
In those early stages, we uncovered a fascinating intellectual battlefield: the distinction between legal and lawful. The essence of the movement, for me, was bringing lawful concepts into sharp focus against the backdrop of the legal system. It inspired individuals to engage in critical, analytical thinking, moving beyond rote acceptance of statutes and acts. During the time of the Free Man on the Land movement, there were a lot of innovative things that happened because people began to question the boundaries of government power and their own inherent rights. This phase was dedicated to research with honesty, goodwill, and good faith, which led us to start discovering a lot of interesting truths about the system.

The Initial Premise of Correction
One of the great revelations that we must be thankful for is the initial assumption under which we operated. When we first started, people were under the assumption—based entirely on good faith—that the government was merely erroneously acting inappropriately. The premise was that the people in the government had simply deviated from course somewheres along the way and had forgotten their true purpose. Therefore, our early efforts were focused on trying to correct government behavior and bureaucratic behavior. We sought to correct the statutes and acts that seemed to have gone off course, believing that if the people just woke up and stood their ground, the system would be forced back into its proper lane.

The Great Revelation: Exposure of Fraud
It turns out that the people in authority were not just people who wandered off the reservation and lost their way. The true system we discovered was far more deliberate. The most critical reveal of the Free Man on the Land movement is the exposure of the true nature of power. Their power is maintained by them never allowing you to regain your perception of reality. Eventually, it became clear to me that what the Free Man on the Land movement revealed was the fraud that is government today. This profound truth is backed by the principles of natural law, which have been proven again and again over time and dictate three simple things: do not harm, do not steal, and do not engage in fraud.

Conclusion
The truths we discovered became widespread, and the Free Man on the Land movement quickly went far and wide, gaining traction all across the British Commonwealth. This spread was inevitable, because anyone who wants to be free could agree with our fundamental principles. When you study natural law going back hundreds of years, you understand that these truths are eternal. The core principles we champion—those of natural, objective, and self-evident law—are as meaningful today as they were the day they were written. The true value of the movement, therefore, is not merely in correcting errors, but in fundamentally revealing the entire flawed system.
